Martha Marlow is not your typical singer songwriter; her debut album features a 17-piece string ensemble, some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians, and a personal thank you to Randy Newman. She is on The Music Show to talk about the things that influence her songwriting— poetry, painting, and living with chronic pain. Martha Marlow's highly-anticipated debut album Medicine Man comes out next week.
Beloved children’s author and illustrator Alison Lester is responsible for books such as Magic Beach, Clive Eats Alligators and Are We There Yet? The latter has been turned into a concert work by composer David John Lang for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Both are guests on The Music Show to talk about adapting books for the stage, music and literacy in schools, and writing for the world’s toughest critics: children.
